Main Purpose
Due to the influence of wheel alignment, vehicles will have lateral rolling and slipping of tires during normal driving on the road, leading to oblique driving and tire wear. The side slip tester is a rapid detection device used to check whether the matching condition of wheel toe-in and camber is good.
Main Composition
The side slip tester is composed of a frame, left and right sliding plates, a relaxation plate, a link mechanism and a zero reset device. When the vehicle wheels pass through the sliding plates, under the action of wheel camber and toe-in, the wheels generate inward or outward side slip force, which makes the left and right sliding plates move synchronously inward or outward.
A relaxation plate is installed in front of the measuring sliding plates. Before the wheels drive onto the sliding plates, they first pass through the relaxation plate to eliminate the inward or outward side slip force generated between the wheels and the ground.
Detection Items
• Side slip amount of the front/rear wheels of the vehicle
• Vehicle speed during testing
